About Russian women

Women from Russia are the good choice for marriage and family.
Russian mentality is more conservative, than European. The man is a provider and breadwinner, the woman is his muse, she helps him, encourages him, takes care of him and keeps the household. But Russian women are reasonable independent and self-sufficient. They wouldn’t make choice – home or carrier? For Russians there’s here no problem at all: to have a good job doesn’t mean refusal of the family at all. They managed to be caring wives, good mothers, as well as employees with a spark of potential simultaneously. Women in Russia are as a rule well-educated. Many of them graduated from music and artistic school. Some of them obtained not just one higher education.
The family plays for them a very important role. They are ready to fight for their beloved man. They take somebody else's children in their stride and will accept a man with children with love. Russian women are good-hearted, caring, liveable, elegant, feminine, beautiful, excellent housewives and good love mates.

How to behave on a date

«Remember! You won’t get the second chance to make the first impression». Coco Chanel

  • Not with standing that Russian women are plenty open enough in socializing, you will be going to have to gain confidence during long time. Be attentive and don’t do halting steps. When you make an appearance being a Casanova on the very first date, she will become being alienated, and she will treat you with vehement suspicion. You have to show seriousness of your intentions.
  • Under no circumstances show your obvious sexual intentions and don’t look at other women, however beautiful they would be!
  • All keep respect and gallant attitude towards your Lady.
  • Don’t forget to smile, even when you are nervous or you dislike this woman. Smile out of respect for her, because the woman prepared for the meeting, came to you.
  • Russian women are very romantic!
  • Buy flowers for the Lady or a little box of chocolates. You make a positive impression on her by this. As well as flowers will help you and your Lady to have first minutes behind you, when both of you feel embarrassed. Moreover, in Russia it is usual to give flowers!
  • Going to meet the Lady, take care about your appearance. Many women in Russia look after themselves very much and it is of importance for them, how you look.
  • Be gallant!
  • Help to put the coat on. Open the door to the restaurant or in the taxi.
  • It remains also to add, that in the former USSR countries all lunches and evening meals, visiting museums and theaters, especially during period of advances are paid by a man. Such an approach doesn’t mean a wish to become a man being lumbered; it is just peculiarity of the mentality and giving care.
  • When you meet your Lady in the evening, don’t forget to take a taxi not only for you, but also for your Lady.

Don’t forget – you can contact our agency any time. We would be glad to support you with restaurants, taxis, excursions and answer all your questions.

About St. Petersburg

One of the world's most beautiful cities, St. Petersburg has all the ingredients for an unforgettable travel experience: high art, lavish architecture, wild nightlife, an extraordinary history and rich cultural traditions that have inspired and nurtured some of the modern world's greatest literature, music, and visual art. From the mysterious twilight of the White Nights to world-beating opera and ballet productions on magical winter evenings, St. Petersburg charms and entices in every season.

Some information about Saint – Petersburg:

  1. The most Northern city in the world with a population over 1 million.
  2. Saint Petersburg is the second biggest city in Russia and cultural capital of Russia. Its population is about 5 000 000 people.
  3. City’s birthday: 27 May, 1703
  4. Nicknames:
"The Venice of the North"(referring to St. Petersburg's many rivers and canals)
    "The Palmyra of the North"
"The Northern Capital of Russia" (referring to the centuries-old rivalry between St.   Petersburg and Moscow)
  5. Money. The national currency is the ruble (Rbl.)  One ruble is 100 kopeks, and denominations are as follows: Notes - 50, 100, 500, 1000 and 5000 rubles; Coins - 1, 5, 10 and 50 kopeks, 1, 2, 5 and 10 rubles.
Officially it’s illegal to pay in dollars or euros. But prices are sometimes written in Cyrillic    “y.e.”, especially in places with a lot of foreigners.
It is also worth noting that, due to high instances of card fraud emanating from Russia, some  Western banks need to be notified of your travel plans, otherwise they may block your card automatically after the first time you use it in Russia, whether to make a payment or withdraw cash.
  6. Electricity. The electrical current in Russia is 110 volts AC, 50 Hz. Most sockets are standard
European size with double round-pin plugs.
  7. Main cultural attractions:
    The Hermitage Museum
The Mariinsky Opera and Ballet Theater
The Imperial palace and park ensemble at Peterhof.
  8. River Neva is 74 km long. The main street of the city Nevskiy prospect got this name from   the river. Nevskiy prospect is the heart of Saint Petersburg, where there are hundreds of bars, shops, restaurants, cafes, clubs etc.
  9. Prices. Last year St. Petersburg was ranked the third most expensive city in the world. While the cost of living isn’t high compared to Europe, you will pay high prices for Western-standard accommodation and exclusive restaurants.

    Restaurant “Tsar”  (Russian Cuisine)
    $$$

Tsar, as its name suggests, sets out to make its guests feel like real Russian royalty. Drinks are served in fine crystal glasses, old portraits of noblemen cover the walls and even the toilets are encased inside giant leather-lined thrones. The Russian cuisine on offer is first rate – no doubt Nicholas II himself would have loved the Pozharskaya cutlet a la Pushkin. The staff, food and atmosphere here is a real lesson in imperial elegance.

    Restaurant “Mari Vanna” (Russian Cuisine)
    $$

Bookings for this popular restaurant are essential as the idea is that you are eating as if at a friend’s house - and what kind of guest would turn up unexpected? With a reservation safely made the door to the flat will be unlocked for you and you’ll be invited in to dine on traditional Russian home food such as borshch, pelmeni and pirogi in a cute little place designed to look like an old (but unbroken) Russian flat. The food itself is not mind-blowing, just plain good and filling, but the service and homely atmosphere, complete with toys and crayons for the kids, make this a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

    Restaurant “Dachniki” (Russian Cuisine)
    $

There’s something about this place which feels genuinely reminiscent of a real Russian dacha. Perhaps it’s the log cabin walls, the crazy crockery or the kitsch porcelain figurines, or maybe it’s the fact that the wait staff are wearing flowery aprons over their everyday clothes and there’s some guys playing cards in the corner…well whatever it is, this piece of Soviet nostalgia has some soul to it. The menu specialises in those simple favourites such as draniki (potato pancakes) and kotlety (meat patties) and includes lots of vegetarian options. Complimenting the theme they have an open barbeque for grilling meat and offer their own homemade alcohol.

Tucked away in the back of the Renaissance hotel, the discreet Canvas restaurant is an obvious choice for quiet lunch meetings - especially when you add in the large weekday business lunch offer which also includes a Russian tea table with samovar. The menu changes regularly but by and large the focus is Russian and European with subtle international touches. Palkin is as historic as they come, dating all the way back to 1874. The menu is bursting with luxurious foie gras, angus beef, truffles, black caviar and game moulded into historic French/Russian recipes from a bygone era. Restaurant “Moskva” (International)
    $$

The rooftop location on the 6th floor of the upscale Nevsky Centre, draws in a dressier crowd of wealthier diners looking to soak up the fancy view. The decor is done out in various shades of cream and the furniture is the muted and comfy yet expensive looking stuff that is typical of the Ginza brand's casual-chic style. Potted plants brighten the place up, as does fresh fruit at the open central cooking stations and while the menu looks over ambitious, hitting all corners of the globe with sushi, pizza, Russian classics and continental mains - the food is still well-made. The Moskva roof is also a great place for evening drinks, and sipping cocktails on the huge sun-drenched terrace overlooking the hustle and bustle of Vosstaniya square, we have to admit is pretty darn enjoyable.

    Restaurant “Mansarda” (International)
    $$$

Turn into the building signposted with Gazprom’s headquarters and head for the lift in the left side of the blindingly sleek Quartro Corti business centre. You will be greeted six floors up with a candid view of the nearby golden dome of St. Isaacs Cathedral. The interior is understated and the glass walls ensure that the view is the main focus. The cuisine is as crisp and modern as the restaurant in which it’s served and shouldn’t disappoint. Classic European tastes dominate with Asian influences also given some attention and the fresh fish based dishes are particularly recommended. In warm weather the rooftop terrace is an excellent venue for sunset cocktails or Sunday brunch.

Culinary influences include American hamburgers, Thai curries, Italian pizzas and French pastries. Furnishings and accents are equally eclectic and the space has been arranged in such a way that there are all sorts of nooks and crannies to settle into for long chats over innovative cocktails or to while away the hours with your laptop or any of the books and magazines they've thoughtfully provided.
